Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Boulevard 98 has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at Boulevard 98 pays a flat rate that includes:

  • High-speed Internet
  • Expanded cable TV service
  • Water/sewer, trash removal
  • Washer and dryer in each apartment
  • 24-hour on-site management
  • Community features — pool, fitness center, sports courts, tanning, etc.

What size are the apartments?

Are the apartments furnished?

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 17, 2018 to July 30, 2019, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Other alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff.

Can I pay by credit card?

Boulevard 98 also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. There is a convenience fee for one-time online payments, but automatic recurring payments are always free.

Will my financial aid cover charges at Boulevard 98?

Your living costs at Boulevard 98 can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Boulevard 98. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is Boulevard 98 open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at Boulevard 98 are students at UNC Charlotte, and the per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Nonetheless, Boulevard 98 is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. Family members are welcome as well, subject to occupancy limits. Because of the need to match student roommates, non-students must apply together with enough roommates to fill the desired apartment.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

Boulevard 98 is a controlled access building that requires a key to access the building at all times.  Community courtesy officers are also present.  Apartments have fire sprinklers, steel front doors with deadbolts, plus individually locking bedroom doors. Management staff are also on-site 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

Boulevard 98 is a no-pets community for all newly contracted residents beginning in August 2016. The community is smoke-free in all indoor areas. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of apartment-mates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.
